ServiceNow Technical Consultant – ITOM

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Consultant-ITOM with a strong background in conducting strategic assessments across the ITOM suite, including Discovery, CMDB, Event Management, and AlOps. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting enterprise clients to evaluate their current ITOM maturity, identify areas for improvement, and develop a roadmap for optimization and transformation that aligns with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive assessments of ServiceNow ITOM implementations, covering Discovery, CMDB, Event Management, and AlOps modules.
  • Examine current state architecture, data quality, integration points, technical debts, and operational workflows to understand the existing environment. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks within ITOM processes and configurations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • ITOM certification, such as Discovery or Service Mapping.
  • Experience working with UK‑based enterprise clients in sectors such as Healthcare, Finance, Telecommunications, or Public Sector.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with CMDB modeling tools and data governance frameworks.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate ServiceNow ITOM Module capabilities to customers.
  • Guide customers on effective utilization of ServiceNow ITOM Module licenses.
  • Assess Discovery patterns, schedules, credentials, and coverage to ensure effective discovery processes.
  • Evaluate CMDB health, focusing on data quality, relationships, reconciliation, and normalization.
  • Review Event Management integrations, alert correlation rules, and operational dashboards.
  • Analyze AlOps configurations, including anomaly detection, machine learning models, and automation workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Overall 8+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on ServiceNow ITOM modules experience.
  • Demonstrated success in conducting ITOM assessments and delivering strategic recommendations.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Discovery (MID Servers, credentials, patterns, probes, sensors), CMDB (classes, data model, reconciliation, normalization, health dashboards), and Event Management (alert ingestion, correlation, suppression, monitoring tool integrations).
