The successful candidate will take responsibility for shaping and expanding the firm’s Private Client offering. You will build on an existing, loyal client base and strong commercial networks. The role focuses heavily on estate and tax planning for business owners and their families, while also overseeing wills, probate, and Court of Protection matters. You will be leading a capable team of lawyers and support staff, with full autonomy to drive performance, growth, and excellence in client service.
Key Responsibilities
- You will lead and manage the department, maintaining your own varied caseload while supervising and mentoring your team.
- Your remit includes ensuring compliance with internal risk procedures, delivering on departmental targets, supporting business development initiatives, and contributing to the long-term strategic direction of the team.
- Training and development—both individually and collectively—will also form a key part of your role.
The firm is seeking a senior Private Client specialist (7+ PQE) with strong technical expertise and leadership capability. STEP membership is essential, along with experience handling taxable estates, complex wills, business LPAs, trusts, tax planning, and family investment companies/partnerships. You will have strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance fee-earning with supervision. IT proficiency is also required.
