Currently, Nelly Works is proud to support one of the world's leading digital research companies. Our partner is at the forefront of data-driven insights, utilising cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and AI to redefine how global brands understand consumer behaviour and market trends. To support their massive digital evolution, we are sourcing top-tier talent to lead their most critical infrastructure initiatives.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to act as the primary technical interface between our client and a dedicated Google Cloud Partner consultancy. This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on governance, orchestration, and technical oversight. You will not be tasked with hands-on execution; instead, you will be the internal North Star ensuring the migration partner’s plan is sound, their assumptions are validated, and internal dependencies are perfectly aligned for a seamless Azure-to-GCP transition.

Engagement: Contract or permanent considered, UK-based preferred, with flexible remote options across the UK and selected EU locations.

Why this role:

  • Join a greenfield transformation where your decisions will matter
  • Influence architecture, not just execution
  • Work on a visible, multi-year cloud modernisation programme

Location: London preferred, with one day per week in the London office ideal. Fully remote will be considered for the right candidate.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Migration Oversight & Technical Governance
    • Partner Validation: Facilitate deep-dive reviews of the partner’s technical designs to ensure alignment with internal security, compliance, and architectural standards.
    • Milestone Accountability: Track progress against the migration roadmap, ensuring deliverables meet the definition of Done.
    • Quality Gatekeeping: Act as the final internal sign-off for migration waves, ensuring all technical debt and performance benchmarks are addressed.
  2. Discovery & Dependency Orchestration
    • Internal Roadmap Alignment: Lead discovery efforts to provide the Partner with accurate dependency maps and service tiers.
    • Tool Expertise: Hands-on experience with discovery tools such as StratoZone, CloudPhysics, or Azure Migrate is strongly preferred.
    • Dependency Unblocking: Proactively resolve internal bottlenecks (e.g., firewall changes, IAM approvals) that could stall progress.
    • Assumption Testing: Critically evaluate migration assumptions—including cutover windows and rollback procedures—to ensure business continuity.
  3. Stakeholder & Program Leadership
    • Technical Translation: Translate complex partner updates into clear, risk-based reports for IT leadership and business stakeholders.
    • Risk Management: Maintain a high-level technical risk register, focusing on cross-team dependencies and platform-specific constraints between Azure and GCP.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Migration Expertise: 7+ years in Cloud Program Management, specifically overseeing large-scale Azure-to-GCP migrations involving VMs, Kubernetes, and petabytes of data.
  • Cloud Fluency: Strong conceptual knowledge of both platforms (e.g., mapping Azure VNet/ExpressRoute to GCP VPC/Interconnect).
  • Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage Global System Integrators (GSIs) or specialised cloud partners while maintaining a one team culture.
  • Analytical Discovery: Deep experience in technical sizing exercises to ensure accurate cost and effort estimation.

Required Certifications:

  • PMP or PRINCE2

Preferred Certifications:

  • Google Professional Cloud Architect (Highly preferred for technical validation).
  • Azure Solutions Architect (Beneficial for understanding the source environment).
