Location: Nellsar Homes, Essex, Kent and Surrey
Contracted hours: Full-Time
Hourly rate of pay: Starting from £13 (depending on experience and qualifications)
We are currently on the lookout for positive and motivated individuals to join our growing team as a Senior Health Care Assistant. The job requires someone who is deeply passionate about caring for the elderly and has a genuine drive to manage a care team responsible for those using our services, including our residents, their families and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Managing, monitoring and supervising a team of care staff, junior staff members and other team members to ensure our residents receive high quality person-centred care.
- Welcoming and admitting new residents, including care planning and administering medication if needed and reviewing effectiveness.
- Providing all aspects of care for residents including personal care, assisting with meals and feeding if required.
- Monitoring standards, supervising and inducting Care assistants, other team members and junior staff.
- Monitors service user conditions by checking vital signs and contributes to record keeping.
- Dealing with medical emergencies within the care home.
- Undertaking simple dressings and wound care, maintain effective infection control processes.
- Maintain effective professional relationships with external health professionals and residents' families.
Qualifications:
- A compassionate and caring nature
- NVQ3 / RQF 3 or above qualification
- Up-to-date clinical skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to nurture and develop staff
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to foster and develop communication with external agencies
- Ability to manage your workload and maintain standards
