Join the Nellsar Family

Nellsar is a family-run care group with 13 Homes across Kent, Surrey and Essex. Compassion is at the heart of everything we do, and we're dedicated to creating warm, welcoming Homes where residents feel valued, comfortable and truly part of the family. From expert residential, nursing and dementia care, to in-house physiotherapy and rehabilitation, engaging activities, and our innovative approach to nutrition and wellbeing, we deliver personalised care with genuine kindness.

We're looking for an experienced, confident People Business Partner to join our People & Culture team and take ownership of HR and employee relations across a portfolio of our Homes.

This is a genuinely varied role, split evenly between hands-on HR advisory support and employee relations casework, including leading formal workplace investigations. You'll be the trusted first point of contact for managers across your portfolio, coaching them through everything from day-to-day people queries to complex disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters. You'll have direct access to our Head of People & Culture and genuine scope to shape how ER is done across your patch.

What you'll be doing

β€’ Owning the full lifecycle of ER casework across your portfolio from first contact through to fair, legally sound outcomes
β€’ Leading investigations into disciplinary, grievance and conduct matters, including evidence gathering, interviewing and report writing
β€’ Acting as the go-to HR advisor for your portfolio, running regular advisory clinics and coaching managers on policy, process and people decisions
β€’ Keeping ER documentation and SOPs current, accurate and audit-ready
β€’ Producing monthly reporting on caseload, trends and emerging risk
β€’ Supporting the rollout of HR projects and improvements across your Homes

What we're looking for

You'll have:
β€’ Significant HR generalist or advisory experience, ideally gained in adult social care
β€’ In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice
β€’ Demonstrable experience independently leading formal workplace investigations to a standard that will withstand legal scrutiny
β€’ Experience managing casework or operational delivery across multiple sites
β€’ A confident, credible communicator able to build relationships with managers at every level
β€’ Data-literate, comfortable turning casework trends into insight that drives decisions
β€’ A pragmatic, commercially minded problem-solver, equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and taking the lead

Why join Nellsar?

Our teams say being part of Nellsar is like being part of a family. As a genuinely family-run care group, we offer real autonomy and ownership over your portfolio plus, when you join us, in addition to the normal statutory benefits, you'll benefit from:
β€’ 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata)
β€’ Everyday discounts
β€’ Long Service Awards
β€’ Study for ongoing professional development
β€’ Refer a Friend bonus scheme
β€’ Employee Assistance Programme

If you're an experienced HR and ER professional looking for a role where you can take ownership, develop your skills and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
