The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to gain new skills and experience, and work in an exciting and dynamic team. They will be working with adults experiencing a range of acquired disorders of communication and/or swallowing. They will work closely with other MDT staff to ensure holistic patient care. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and have good time management and prioritisation skills. Adult Speech and Language Therapy are a respected and integrated part of the multidisciplinary team, with a positive record of developing innovative and patient centred services. The service runs weekly community videofluoroscopy and FEES clinics, and a monthly joint voice\/swallowing clinic with ENT. The team pioneered a student supported Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Programme and won a national Advancing Healthcare Award for their development of community laryngectomy care. The team is supporting clinical research projects, including the HARP aphasia study, and collaborating with local system partners to improve communication accessibility of services. CPD is actively supported through regular clinical supervision with senior speech and language therapists, appraisals and excellent training opportunities.
