Calling all Urgent Community Response Occupational Therapists. This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with strong clinical reasoning skills who enjoys a fast-paced environment. Our integrated teams provide urgent assessment and brief intervention to ensure a patient is safe in their own home. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Doctors, Physiotherapists, HCA's, and OTA's. The post holder will join a team of Occupational Therapists to provide specialist functional assessments when a patient finds themselves unsafe at home due to medical or physical deterioration. Often the OT will need to provide adaptive equipment.

Starting with NELFT: NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London: This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part-time).

Job responsibilities:

  • Applicant must have a car and be willing to travel through three boroughs.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Qualified/registered Occupational Therapist. Evidence of post-registration training/qualification and continued CPD.
  • Experience: Proven and significant experience of working with people with complex, acute physical health needs. Experience of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating aspects of care. Significant experience working with families and carers. Experience or knowledge of providing staff supervision and appraisal.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year per annum (Plus HCAS).
