The predicted salary is between 47810 - 54710 £ per year.
Providing a qualified, high-quality specialist adult autism assessment and intervention to individuals, carers, families and groups, in line with best, evidence-based practice and trust care pathways for clients with suspected adult autism. The post holder will support their peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies.
Main duties of the job:
- To be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload to clients referred to the Adult Autism Service and utilising planning and organisational skills, to exercise autonomous assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the parameters of the service operational policy and professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload.
- To be responsible for organising and prioritising own and others workload in the day-to-day allocation of work.

Starting with Us: NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement: This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

Job responsibilities:
- To act as an autonomous, registered practitioner who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols.
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- To undertake comprehensive diagnostic assessment of referred individuals, developing skills as required.
- Under supervision, to employ analytical and judgment skills and be responsible for taking clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues.
- Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures, to provide consultation and advice about autism issues to other professionals working with service users.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications experience in autism trained in one specialist autism assessment tool.
- Skills psychological formulation making informed clinical decisions regarding disorders of mental health.
- Knowledge legislations regarding autism knowledge of differential diagnosis in autism.
