Overview
The BHR Integrated Healthcare Alliance is a partnership between North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) and PELC to provide Urgent Care Services in Queen\’s Hospital, King George Hospital and Harold Wood and Barking Community sites, delivering 24-hour urgent treatment centre services. NELFT is seeking qualified autonomous Nurse Practitioners and AHP Urgent Care Practitioners to join existing teams.
This post includes an incentive package: a Welcome to NELFT payment, a lump sum of 10% of the agreed basic salary (pro rata for part-time roles and exclusive of HCAS payments), subject to a minimum of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000. 50% of the lump sum is paid at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and 50% at the end of year two. The Welcome package applies to external candidates only and is contingent on a 2-year employment period within the role.
You will play a key role in autonomous clinical practice and leadership. The clinician will demonstrate expertise in the assessment and management of patients of all ages in a diverse, high-flow population, seeing presentations from minor to complex. The service has access to radiology and direct access to follow-up clinics and community pathways.
Main requirements: Registered General Nurse / AHP with evidence of autonomous practice in Minor Illnesses and Minor Injuries and relevant post-registration qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide autonomous practice to all patients presenting with minor injury and illness with proven clinical competencies.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients in Minor Injuries and Minor Illness, managing caseload and maintaining overview of workload and contractual productivity.
- Oversee clinical priorities and demonstrate recent clinical management and staff management skills.
- Support and manage patients of all ages, including A&E/Urgent Care experience; day and night shift pattern across sites (flexible options discussed).

Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse / Allied Health Professional with evidence of autonomous practice in Minor Illnesses and Minor Injuries.
- Post-registration qualifications relevant to minor illnesses and injuries.
- Experience in A&E/Urgent Care settings preferred.
Additional Information
- Eligibility to work in the UK and sponsor information: this Trust is a registered sponsor; sponsorship for all roles is not guaranteed. Check UKVI eligibility; HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not included when calculating sponsorship salary.
- High Cost Area Supplement: 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part-time).
- Induction: new starters join on the first Monday of each month and undergo a two-week induction including mandatory and systems training; meet executive team and attend drop-in sessions. Induction held at the head office in Rainham, Essex.
- Probationary period applies to this post.
