We are looking for a physiotherapist to join our Children’s Community Physiotherapy team in Waltham Forest. Main duties of the job

You will join a dynamic and supportive team in delivering a high standard of physiotherapy service to children and families in Waltham Forest – providing specialised assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0-19, who have complex developmental needs/motor disorders.

As a Senior children’s physiotherapist in our community team, you will have a delegated area of responsibility, provide highly specialist Physiotherapy clinical expertise and deliver therapeutic care in various settings including clinic, the child’s home, special schools, mainstream schools and nurseries, community settings, as well as virtually.

You will take a lead role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the

Physiotherapy service provided to children and young people attending Special schools in Waltham Forest, supporting Physiotherapy and support staff working in the schools; as well as working in Early years settings and clinics, including the Child Development Team, in conjunction with MDT colleagues.

Physiotherapists, working as part of Specialist Children’s services and the wider multi-agency team in Waltham Forest, are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to our children and families and improving outcomes for children and young people.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period.

NELFT place great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff

Qualifications

  • – Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • – Professional registration

Experience

  • – 4 years post registration experience in Physiotherapy
  • – 24-36 months experience in paediatric setting
  • – Experience in providing advice training and support to more junior staff, support staff and students

Knowledge

  • – Good knowledge of current best practice in Children’s Physiotherapy
  • – Demonstrate understanding of clinical governance and its implication for services
  • – In depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to children

Skills

  • – Specialist clinical skills in Paediatric physiotherapy
  • – Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate; and to support and supervise other staff
  • – Demonstrate ability to work as an effective team member with excellent interpersonal skills
