Overview

Extended Scope Practitioner Physiotherapist role at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.

Our team is expanding and we are looking for experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapists with advanced practice skills to join our MSK team.

Responsibilities

  • Join our well-established team of ESPs providing orthopaedic and spinal triage using advanced level assessment and treatment in clinics across the London Boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham.
  • Utilise advanced level skills (e.g., injection therapy and independent prescribing) where appropriate; CPD support to attend relevant courses identified during appraisal.
  • Collaborate with and support the MSK physiotherapy service, contributing to in-service training, clinical education, service elevation and service development.
  • Work mainly in clinics with scope to work from home one day per week; laptops are provided.
  • Operate as a team member within the Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment & Treatment Service (MCATS) and Spinal and Musculoskeletal Service (SMAS) for NELFT, enabling assessment, diagnosis and pathway assignation of patients with spinal pain and musculoskeletal conditions.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Musculoskeletal physiotherapist with advanced practice skills; injection therapy and independent prescribing experience are advantageous.
  • Experience in extended scope/advanced practice roles and interprofessional collaboration within MSK services.

Benefits and Context

  • London High Cost Area Supplement – 15% of basic salary (min £4,714, max £5,941).
  • Location: London/NELFT service areas; good transport links to London and Essex.
