Overview
Waltham Forest CAMHS are looking for 3 motivated and skilled Band 6 Clinicians to join our busy Access Team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. The successful candidates will be part of a team operating as the \βfront door\β of Specialist CAMHS. They will be responsible for working on a duty system to respond to new referrals into the service; prioritising and responding to risk; ensuring that young people and families are supported to access the service and addressing any potential barriers. Effective communication, time management and decision-making skills are essential.
The post holder will conduct holistic assessments of young people who may be experiencing mental health needs or neurodevelopmental difficulties, including an assessment of their mental health, risk to self and/or others, possible safeguarding risks, social circumstances and relationships. They will use this information to work with other professionals to develop a formulation of the young person\\\βs difficulties to identify those who may require additional support, either within CAMHS or from other agencies or services. The post holder will also offer brief evidence-based interventions to young people during the assessment period. This may include direct sessions with young people, either in the clinic or in other community locations, or the provision of resources and signposting to other agencies.

Starting with Us
Housekeeping for new starters includes joining the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertaking a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. New starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team and senior managers, and attend drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
