We are working with an award-winning creative communications agency specialising in brand, digital, sustainability strategy and corporate reporting. They work with ambitious and well-renowned clients across a range of sectors, helping them solve complex communication challenges through insight, strategy and powerful creative ideas. The agency has built a strong reputation for combining deep corporate knowledge with exceptional creative output, producing engaging digital experiences, sustainability communications and reporting that help organisations communicate their purpose and create long-term value.
The agency is looking for a talented Digital Design Director to lead the creative direction of high-profile digital projects and help shape the future of their digital offering. This is a role for someone who is incredibly passionate about brilliant conceptual ideas and design craft. They’re looking for a Digital Design Director who can work with internal UX and IA specialists as well as with clients to develop strong creative routes and translate them into beautifully designed, engaging digital experiences.
You'll be responsible for leading the creative process from initial idea generation through to final delivery, ensuring design work is strategically underpinned, born out of great ideas and executed to an exceptional standard. The successful candidate will be someone who understands that great digital design is about more than just functionality; it's about creating clear, compelling and memorable experiences through thoughtful design, storytelling and attention to detail.
You'll work closely with strategists, UX specialists and developers to create websites and digital platforms that are both visually impactful and technically considered. You'll need to be equally comfortable developing the big idea behind a project, refining the visual approach and presenting creative concepts to senior stakeholders, confidently explaining the thinking and rationale behind your work.
The successful Digital Design Director will have a strong portfolio of corporate digital projects, demonstrating experience designing websites, platforms and digital experiences that make complex information clear, engaging and easy to navigate. You'll need to bring a high level of conceptual thinking alongside exceptional design craft. Someone who notices the details, cares deeply about quality and consistently pushes work to the highest possible standard.
Skillset wise, you'll be highly proficient in Figma and passionate about creating best practice across digital design. A key part of the role will be acting as the agency's digital design champion, helping mentor and develop the wider creative team, running training sessions, sharing knowledge and improving workflows to elevate the team's overall digital capability. You’ll be really comfortable training team members on scalable design systems and atomizing components etc.
The role will also see you working closely with developers to ensure design intent is translated seamlessly into production, with experience designing for enterprise CMS platforms such as Umbraco or Webflow. UX and IA expertise already exists within the team, so this role is about bringing those foundations to life through exceptional visual design, motion, interaction and digital storytelling.
As a senior creative within the agency, you'll need to be someone who leads by example, producing outstanding work yourself whilst inspiring those around you. You'll collaborate closely with Creative Directors and wider teams, build strong relationships with clients and contribute creatively to pitches and new business opportunities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected independent agency, working with leading organisations on meaningful corporate communication projects. You'll have the opportunity to influence the agency's digital direction, develop a talented creative team and deliver work that combines strategic thinking, creativity and exceptional design. If you're an experienced Digital Design Director, or a Senior Digital Designer ready to step into a leadership role, with a passion for conceptual thinking, beautifully crafted digital experiences and developing others around you, we'd love to hear from you.
