Neko Health
Mission

Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.

In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.

Role Purpose

This is not a traditional laboratory role. We're looking for a Biomedical Scientist who is comfortable working differently, embraces innovation, and takes pride in delivering accurate results at exceptional pace.

Neko Health members come through our clinics for whole-body preventive health screenings, and our laboratories sit at the centre of the patient journey. They are busy, modern spaces, and the service continues to develop as we scale.

This is a hands on, autonomous role, based on a site in one of our central London laboratories. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will operate our Abbott Alinity and Sysmex XN-550 analysers and support the quality systems that allow us to return results within 30 minutes of sample receipt.

If you're a BMS looking to further develop your career in an innovation led environment, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll Deliver in the First 6 - 12 Months
  • Initialise the analysers each day and ready them for sample processing.
  • Perform testing on our Abbott Alinity (biochemistry and immunoassay) and Sysmex XN-550 (haematology) analysers, validating patient results and escalating clinically anomalous or unexpected findings.
  • Carry out daily calibration, internal quality control, and routine maintenance of analysers, troubleshooting and escalating technical issues promptly.
  • Work within our ISO 15189-aligned, UKAS-facing quality management system: author SOP updates, monitor EQA performance, support audits, and investigate non conformances.
  • Contribute to service improvement work, including analyser verification, reagent evaluation, and software testing.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records and support performance monitoring across turnaround times, KPIs, and consumables usage.
  • Provide technical guidance to clinical colleagues and support training across the lab team.
Minimum Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist, with evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Minimum one year of post registration experience in clinical chemistry and immunoassay, including IQC and EQA practice.
  • Demonstrable experience operating an integrated clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyser.
  • Experience working accurately and efficiently under time pressure, suited to a low volume, fast turnaround service model.
Preferred
  • Post registration experience in haematology.
  • Hands on experience operating Sysmex XN series haematology analysers.
  • Hands on experience operating Abbott Alinity ci series.
  • Experience in POCT, rapid diagnostics, or high throughput clinical settings.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), digital result reporting, or involvement in LIMS development and user acceptance testing.
