A specialist supplier of engineered building products used on complex construction projects, delivering fabrication drawings and technical support for manufacture and installation.
The role involves running a drawing office and delivering accurate fabrication drawings and client approvals. You will lead a small team, produce and issue technical drawings (CAD/Tekla), coordinate with Contracts and Sales, and provide practical technical support to ensure projects can be manufactured and installed to specification.
Key responsibilities:- Produce, check and issue technical/fabrication drawings for client approval (Tekla/CAD).
- Communicate directly with clients to issue drawings, collect comments and secure approvals.
- Coordinate with Contracts Manager to align drawings with quotes, manufacturing capability and programme.
- Select appropriate off-the-shelf components (posts, base plates, fixings etc.) using practical engineering judgement.
- Maintain drawing standards, version control and project records.
- Liaise with fabricators/site teams to resolve buildability and installation queries.
- Strong Tekla Structures experience or demonstrable solid CAD experience in structural/steel detailing.
- Practical background in fabrication/steel detailing or similar manufacturing environments (detailing for fabrication rather than architectural concept design).
- Experience producing fabrication drawings and issuing them for client approval.
- Good client-facing communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
- Able to work autonomously; comfortable with a hands-on, practical design role.
- 30 days holiday per year (inclusive of public holidays).

- Full-time, office-based role with potential for flexible working arrangements.
