Role Description
This is a full-time Labourer role based in Sunderland, offered on a hybrid basis. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting skilled metalworkers in the workshop, preparing and moving materials, assisting with fabrication and installation tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The role may involve basic use of hand tools, equipment setup, and supporting on-site installation of architectural metalwork under supervision. The Labourer will follow health and safety procedures, help with loading and unloading deliveries, and complete general labour duties as required to ensure projects run smoothly and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform general labour tasks, including manual handling, material preparation, and workshop housekeeping in a safe and efficient manner.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and workshop equipment; willingness to learn simple fabrication and installation support tasks.
- Strong reliability, time management, and attention to detail, with a focus on quality and following instructions accurately.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with metalworkers, supervisors, and other partners.
- Commitment to health and safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company procedures.
- Ability to work on-site in Sunderland and occasionally at client locations; readiness for both workshop and on-site environments.
- Previous experience in construction, metalwork, fabrication, or a related trade is an advantage but not essential.
- Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK and ability to travel to the Sunderland workshop reliably.
- Full, valid UK driving licence is required.
