As a Catering Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of our staff canteen, helping to prepare food, serve customers, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare and cook breakfast items and daily lunch specials
- Make sandwiches, baguettes, and cold food items
- Serve food and maintain portion control
- Provide friendly, efficient customer service
- Answer queries on menus, ingredients, and allergens
- Hygiene & Kitchen Standards
- Keep kitchen, counters, and dining areas clean and organised
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
- Wash dishes and clean equipment
- Store food correctly and safely
- Stock & Operations
- Unload and check deliveries
- Monitor stock levels and rotate stock
- Conduct stock takes and support ordering
- Complete daily food order sheets
- Administration
- Handle card and contactless payments accurately

Skills & Experience
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
