PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Driver & Operations Assistant, you will have responsibility for receiving, inspecting and delivering goods to customers’ homes. You will support the installation teams handling materials and providing hands‑on assistance where required. You will also carry out other general duties to support the showroom operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking in goods against purchase orders, inspecting materials for damage and reporting if found to enable re‑order if required in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring each individual item and ancillary products are picked in accordance with the individual customers survey list & fitters pack.
- Loading & unloading the van of the materials for order/into the customers’ home on the day of the installation.
- Collecting and disposing of waste from completed installations.
- Putting out A‑board signs and assisting with leafleting in and around the vicinity of the customers premises.
- Collecting materials and sundries from wholesalers as required.
- Assisting fitter with fits e.g., lifting worktops, preparing doors with hinges and handles etc.
- Liaising with customers in their homes, supporting the installation process and ensuring a seamless and positive customer journey.
- Cleaning customer kitchens post fit (dust, waste removal etc.)
- Carrying out general duties around the showroom as required e.g. stock take, ensuring stock room and showroom are tidy.
- Working as a part of a small team, helping in all departments as business dictates.
- Manual handling, in line with manual handling guidelines.
Experience
- Previous similar experience advantageous.
- DIY understanding (using basic tools i.e., screwdriver, drills etc.).
Skills / Knowledge
- IT literate (Microsoft Office/CRM)
- Full UK Driving Licence (clean)
- Driving experience (ideally utilising a long wheelbase van)
- Excellent communication skills and customer service knowledge
- Ability to work independently, identify challenges and be solution focused.
