PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Drainage Engineer is responsible for attending domestic and commercial sites and investigating wastewater works, instigating and resolving issues for our customers, along with making appropriate recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaising with commercial and domestic customers on site.
  • Customer service – engaging with customers in a professional manner.
  • Investigating and diagnosing issues via site surveys.
  • Advising customers as to solutions and implementing accordingly, this may include:
  • Drain clearance
  • De-scaling and root cutting
  • Performing minor excavations and patch lining
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Use of high-pressure water jetters, CCTV camera survey equipment and rods.
  • Identifying potential concerns and making recommendations to customers for additional work.
  • Interpret and work with drainage drawings, operating independently in areas of expertise.
  • Review and adhere to project-specific risk assessment and method statements (RAMS) before commencing work.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Driving brand awareness through professional appearance, interactions and technical knowledge.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
  • Making recommendations to the Regional Development Managers to the success of the region.
  • Help to resolve any operational issues, performance issues or compliance within the territory, taking all steps to safeguard the brand’s reputation.
  • Ensure compliance with all current legislation and regulations as required.
  • Establish a strong message of urgency to complete tasks and activities efficiently and accurately, underpinned by strong KPIs.
  • Any other reasonable duty that falls within your capabilities.

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

    • 1 year’s previous experience of working within the drainage sector.
    • Ideally 1 year’s experience of plumbing.
    • Technical expertise of drainage and related functions.
    • Drainage tanker experience (preferred).
    • Full clean UK driving license with flexibility to travel.
    • CSCS card holder preferred.
    • Able to use a mobile telephone (calls, photos, email and CRM Application etc.).

    SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Background in drainage engineering.
    • High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) certification.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • A DBS check will be part of the on-boarding process.
    • To be able to work to an on-call rota providing a 24 hr service.
