About You & the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Repairs and Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and maintaining motors and lifting equipment, with working knowledge of LOLER safety legislation.
Your Duties: You’ll play an essential part in your team and company success story by efficiently and effectively carrying out duties including:
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and fault-finding on motors and lifting equipment, working to defined standards and procedures.
- Prepare hoists and lifting equipment for day‑to‑day operational use, ensuring all items are checked, safe, and ready for deployment.
- Complete inspections and examinations of lifting equipment in line with LOLER requirements, accurately identifying issues and escalating where necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using a logical approach, taking ownership of resolving issues within capability and seeking support for more complex faults.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of repairs, inspections, and equipment status, ensuring systems reflect real‑time condition and location of stock.
- Use scanning and tracking systems consistently to support equipment traceability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day repair priorities in line with operational demand, communicating effectively with the wider team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, including Health & Safety, to follow and uphold safe systems of work.
- Apply a strong understanding of safe working practices, ensuring all activities are compliant with LOLER and company procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by following risk assessments and highlighting potential hazards or improvements.
- Provide practical support and guidance to colleagues where appropriate, sharing knowledge to support team capability and consistent standards.
- Take responsibility for maintaining own knowledge, keeping up to date with equipment, processes, and relevant legislation.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies or recurring issues and suggesting practical solutions.
- Support sustainable working practices by following agreed processes and contributing to reducing waste and environmental impact within the department.
Standard Companywide Responsibilities:

Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications and Knowledge- Practical experience in the maintenance and repair of motors and lifting equipment.
- Working knowledge of LOLER regulations and their application in a warehouse or operational setting.
- Understanding of mechanical and basic electrical fault‑finding techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical information such as manuals, service guides, and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with stock control systems, equipment tracking, and maintenance record‑keeping.
- Experience of sourcing and ordering parts or liaising with suppliers.
- Basic IT skills, including use of Microsoft 365 or similar systems for record‑keeping.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with procedures.
- Organised and methodical approach to work, able to manage own workload and priorities effectively and plan ahead.
- Ability to work autonomously whilst being a real team player.
- Willingness to take ownership and accountability.
- Proactive in identifying issues and taking ownership of resolving them within scope.
- Confident communicator with great communication skills who works well as part of a team and shares information clearly.
- Reliable, with a consistent and professional approach to day‑to‑day responsibilities.

- The show must go on, so providing a 7‑day operation/service is key – therefore the ability to work paid overtime on occasions, including weekends as required.
- Experience working within a live events, production, or warehouse environment.

- Aware of health and safety practices within a technical or warehouse setting.
- Advanced MS Office applications skills – Outlook, Excel, Word.
