About You & the Role: The purpose of this role is to support the team in preparation and maintenance of lighting fixtures by ensuring that the hire stock in the Lighting department is kept in excellent condition at all times.
Your Duties: You will play an essential part in your team and company success story by efficiently and effectively carrying out duties including:
- Strong Technical and Operational Skills: Maintaining and preparing lighting equipment for hire, including cleaning, testing, software updates, addressing of units and barcode scanning.
- Ensuring that all fixtures and associated fixings are prepared to the correct standard.
- Prioritising equipment repairs to agreed standards and within timescales agreed.
- Ensure that all equipment is within the test period and relevant test certificates are applied.
- Undertaking small repair work on fixtures as and when required.
- Assisting in the portable appliance testing (PAT) for all Moving Lights and LED fixtures to ensure that they are within their test period, so that the relevant test certificates can be produced as and when required.
- Communicating effectively and maintaining great working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring systems and documentation are accurately maintained.
- The ability to maintain records and to be able to spot trends in equipment failure.
- Providing technical support to Neg Earth colleagues, freelance crew and production crew.
Standard Companywide Responsibilities: Any other duties as required / authorised by your Line Manager / Line Management reporting line. Comply with all Health and Safety requirements. Comply with all Policies and Procedures. Loading and unloading trucks, when required. Ensuring that work areas are kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
Requirements: Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential: Working knowledge of moving lights and LED products.
- Industry knowledge in respect of suppliers and trends.
- At least basic experience in fault finding and repairs.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Strong IT and organisational skills.
- Autonomy and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to take ownership and accountability.
- Customer focused mentality and exemplary attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills, adaptability and flexibility.
- Great communication skills both verbal and written.
- Your ability to plan ahead, organise, prioritise, delegate and oversee workload.
- The show must go on so providing a 7-day operation/service is key. Therefore, the ability to work paid overtime on occasions, including weekends is essential.
Desirable: Intermediate MS Office applications – Outlook, Excel, Word. The use of a stock control system. Training / certificates in relation to Martin, Clay Paky, ROBE and Vari*lite fixtures. Electronics qualification. Experience of Logistics and Planning.
