We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and caring Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our thriving Reception team. You will work closely with our Early Years (EYFS) team to deliver an ambitious, bespoke curriculum. You will maintain our high standards of learning and support children's personal development, well-being, and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support early literacy, phonics and numeracy activities to build strong foundations, and work with the class team to enable children to thrive in all EYFS areas.
  • Model and support the school’s core Christian values.
  • Facilitate purposeful play‑based learning that builds children's confidence.
  • Prepare creative learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ensure all children feel welcome and valued.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a full and recognised Level 3 EYFS qualification that meets DfE criteria.
  • Demonstrates current and extensive professional practice in a Reception or EYFS classroom setting, recognised by peers as strong and positively impacting children’s outcomes.
  • Works well as part of a strong, experienced team.
  • Deep understanding of the Early Years framework and play‑based learning, skilled at using a range of support strategies to achieve high outcomes for children, such as the SHREC approach.
  • Skills and passion to support children to achieve our ambitious high outcomes.
  • Fully committed to championing the school’s distinctive Christian values.
  • Brings a nurturing approach packed with patience, warmth, and fun, and solid professional knowledge of EYFS in YR.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Little Wandle Phonics.
  • Experience using the Thrive Approach to support emotional wellbeing.
  • Experience with Forest School or outdoor learning environments.
