We’re looking for a Deputy Store Manager to join our store team in Dunstable, Bedfordshire!

About the Role

Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll be a hands-on team player who role models the B&M way of working to your team! You’ll support in delivering fantastic store standards every day and will work closely with your Store Manager to maximise the performance of your store. You’ll play a key role in helping to run & lead your store like it’s your own business. Supporting with all store operations from stock to recruitment, no 2 days are the same with B&M!

When your Store Manager isn’t around, it’s down to you! You’ll take charge of your store and drive your team to deliver a fantastic result, day in & day out! Our managers at B&M aren’t office managers – as a Deputy Store Manager, you’re out there on the floor with your team, coaching and inspiring them to reach their full potential. You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with your team, setting the pace & leading by example!

To Be Successful, You Will:

  1. Be a Supportive Leader: Assist your Store Manager in running your store with passion, leading by example and driving a strong sense of teamwork.
  2. Embrace Pace: You’ll have experience working in a fast-paced environment and working with large volumes of stock/product.
  3. Set the Standard: Assist with maintaining excellent store standards and consistently delivering KPIs, day in & day out!
  4. Coach a Winning Team: You’ll love developing your team – working with them to identify and nurture talent & train them to achieve success!
  5. Welcome Challenges: Be hands-on and resilient – flexible & reactive to change.
  6. Love Retail: Demonstrate a true passion for retail and for your role, bringing your commercial knowledge to your team & store.
  7. Drive Compliance: Support in driving compliance in your store, through stocktakes, health & safety and people processes.

What You’ll Need

It’s essential that applicants have the following:

  1. Management experience within a fast-paced and high turnover Retail environment.
  2. Experience managing medium to large sized teams.
  3. A history of working towards & successfully delivering KPI’s.
  4. Flexibility to work a range of hours, including weekends & bank holidays.
  5. Experience within an FMCG/big box environment is preferable, but not essential.
