A Product Manager is responsible for managing a set of products or product lines over the life of the product from ideation through development, launch, sale, and finally discontinuance. They interface between the market and the product team during development, representing the voice of the customer. This role is to lead the future product evolution for the Public Safety Forensics product(s).
Organisational reporting: Head of Product Management - Operational Policing Solutions
Location: Home based with travel to Hemel Hempstead, London, other NECSWS offices, and customer sites.
Key Duties:
- Identifying potential products for the Public Safety sector.
- Conducting market research and developing suitable product strategy documentation.
- Generating product requirements at Roadmap and EPIC levels.
- Determining specifications, product life cycles, pricing, and plans.
- Ensuring products maximize revenue opportunities through modularity and up-sell capabilities.
- Developing marketing strategies in collaboration with the Public Safety marketing team.
- Arranging, booking, and running or attending user groups.
- Maintaining the User Community and sharing regular product communications.
- Proactively managing the Product Lifecycle and communicating it regularly to the company and customers.
- Building relationships with colleagues to ensure product integration at business process and technological levels.
- Staying updated with the latest technology trends.
- Researching competitors, relevant products, and market trends to update the product strategy.
- Creating the smallest possible technology solutions using open source and available technology for faster market entry.
Qualifications Skills and experiences:
- Experience in the Public Safety sector, e.g., ex or retired Police Officer, Police Staff, Forensics Service, or other Public Safety supplier.
- Ability to engage effectively with customers, technical teams, partners, and colleagues.
- Strong product insight to inform direction and prioritization.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to perform ROI calculations and drive profitable growth.
- Excellent research skills to inform product strategies for market leadership.
- Decision-making ability to make tough choices in the best interest of the product, market, customer, and company.
