As an Infrastructure engineer, you will help us to deliver solutions via diverse non-functional environments across our suite of products. Helping design, build, maintain and support the aforementioned environments to facilitate appropriate validation of the numerous in-house software offerings. Being part of a dedicated team deploying and validating NEC/SSS solutions. We are looking for experienced engineers with a can-do attitude, an eye for detail and who can work well autonomously but equally as part of a skilled team.
Job activity & responsibilities:
- Design and build fully self-contained environments (Rigs) to meet business requirements.
- Deploy, debug and fault find NEC/SSS bespoke software installations.
- Build, manage and integrate third party products such as PBXs, radios and recorders with NEC/SSS products.
- Deploy and test monthly WSUS working closely with SSS divisional security.
- Provide technical consultation to other NEC/SSS engineering, development, and assurance (test) teams.
- Follow procedures in line with company policy (Local Procedures or ISO20000-1 defined processes) and suggest and follow-up improvements in line with CSIP.
Qualifications: Due to strict security clearance requirements, we are only able to consider applicants that have lived in the UK for 5 consecutive years or more.
Who are you? Ideally educated to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience with proven experience in a comparable role/s. Good overall fault-finding skills and process through applied logic. A good understanding of Microsoft active directory/domain architecture. Good hardware skillset Dell/HP or equivalent. Administering and working with Microsoft Windows 10/11, Windows Server up to 2022. Experience deploying Microsoft Windows and server Operating systems via WDS. Experience managing and deploying Microsoft Windows Updates (WSUS). Proven knowledge and experience of virtualisation environments (Hyper-V or VMware). Good overall IT skillset with a strong enthusiasm and capability to learn. Great communication skills and able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
What we would desire from you:
- Scripting experience / Knowledge (Batch, MYSQL, PowerShell).
- Clustering experience / Knowledge.
- Knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (User Administration, Creation of jobs including backups, writing/understanding queries).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (VM deployment and maintenance).
- Experience with deploying/administering Symantec Anti-Virus or similar AV solution understanding of VOIP/SIP protocols.
- Knowledge of PBXs (AVAYA, Asterisk and CCM).
- Knowledge of core networking principles such as TCP/IP with a view to supporting a CISCO Switch and Router based environment.
