Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining the policies and standards that guide technology delivery, possessing significant experience in modern, cloud based technology standards and practices. As Solution Architect you are accountable for leading a team of architects and providing architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high volume, mission critical products and services.
You will work hand in hand with our Product Managers, Delivery and Technical Leads in order to influence and define a technology roadmap to meet both our commercial and technology aims. The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into a given client whilst also protecting our commercial position.
Someone who understands the evolutionary nature of technology delivery in an agile environment. As you may imagine, our stakeholder expectations are high, and we’ll need you to facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity even within constrained timescales.
The Solution Architect will work with the project or programme manager and the wider architecture team to:
- Identify and manage technical project risks
- Ensure impact assessments are practical, have well defined scope and implementation, and use existing products wherever possible
Required skills include:
- C++
- C#
- SQL Server
- Windows platforms
- C coding
- TCP/IP network tracing / network designs / routing / NAT’ing etc.
- Aculab prosodyS audio stack
- Tetra network behaviours – specifically Motorola Dimetra
- Tetra Short Data Router API usage
- 3GPP network behaviours – currently as it relates to Kodiak MCX but should be a standard
- Telephone PABX functionality
- Home Office TOPS forum processes
The Solution Architect will manage the relationship with customer technical staff and provide information to help the customer address their project technical issues such as firewall settings, etc. The Solution Architect will support the bid process including technical responses, infrastructure sizing (mainly cloud based) and clarification support.
The role also has a focus on promotion and leadership of the architectural vision both inside the architecture team and across the wider technology and business teams.
