The Microsoft 365 Specialist role is pivotal in continuing the adoption of Microsoft 365 within NEC Software Solutions, ensuring that the business best benefits from the extensive capabilities of the platform. The successful candidate will deliver Microsoft 365 consultancy and have broad knowledge of the entire Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The role can be hybrid office based or remote, subject to location. It involves working with internal stakeholders, understanding their needs, designing solutions that leverage Microsoft 365, and supporting the rollout to medium‑size organisations. As part of the central architecture and design team, the specialist will collaborate with Technology, Enterprise, Security, and Solution Architecture functions.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for Microsoft 365, inspiring confidence and improving user experience.
- Maintain and continuously improve the internal Microsoft 365 architecture and operational documentation.
- Lead business change through Microsoft 365 adoption, understanding requirements and designing solutions.
- Proactively monitor Microsoft 365 capabilities and run awareness campaigns to drive adoption of new features.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to deliver innovative Microsoft 365 capabilities.
- Shape the corporate technology roadmap and improve lifecycle management of Microsoft 365 capabilities.
- Provide operational support and ownership to improve efficiency across implemented Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Collaborate with support teams, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve confidence in Microsoft 365 operations.
- Provide support and guidance to team members, helping to develop their expertise.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of the Microsoft 365 product suite with proven implementation experience within a medium‑size enterprise.
- Ability to produce high‑quality documentation and training materials to enable successful adoption.
- Comfortable collaborating across function teams to deliver change and innovation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- High personal motivation and self‑management ability.
- Self‑learning capacity to stay aware of emerging technologies.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with AI and automation tools, especially Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with cloud‑hosted software solutions, client‑facing digital applications for web and mobile in a UK Government context.
- Familiarity with compliance & security standards such as ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and NCSC Cyber Essentials.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management principles & tools in an enterprise environment.
