The Geospatial Product Manager is responsible for defining, developing, and delivering high-quality software products that meet customer needs and drive business value. The role combines customer insight, commercial awareness, and technical understanding to shape product strategy, manage roadmaps, and deliver enhancements. Working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, customer success, and stakeholders, the Product Manager ensures products remain competitive, compliant, and aligned to organisational priorities. This exciting role is to lead product evolution for a range of geospatial applications, reporting to the Head of Product Management of the NEC Geospatial Solutions product Pillar.

Location: Home based with travel to London, Hemel Hempstead, Nottingham and other NECSWS offices and customer sites

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain product strategy aligned to pillar and organisational objectives
  • Develop, own, and communicate the product roadmap and other standard collateral to ensure all customer facing teams deliver consistent and accurate messaging, effectively communicating our value propositions in language that resonates with customers.
  • Ensure alignment between customer needs, market trends, and technical capabilities
  • Contribute to wider portfolio strategy and planning
  • Translate strategy into well-defined and commercially sound product backlogs and requirements
  • Ensure that products maximise revenue opportunities in terms of modularity – ensuring we can deploy at a range of price points and up-sell additional capabilities over time
  • Developing marketing strategies in collaboration with the Public Safety marketing team
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Prioritise features and enhancements based on value, risk, and opportunity
  • Track delivery progress and ensure alignment to agreed milestones
  • Support successful product launches and releases
  • Proactively manage the Product Lifecycle, communicating it regularly to the company and customers
  • Understand technology and keep abreast with the latest technology
  • Research competitors, relevant products, market trends and regularly update the product strategy to meet the best commercial outcome
  • Engage regularly with customers to understand needs, challenges, and behaviours
  • Gather and analyse feedback, usage data, and market trends
  • Translate insights into product improvements and innovation opportunities
  • Support and participate in early engagement with sales opportunities
  • Identify and develop product enhancement opportunities to grow your product revenues
  • Explore and incorporate emerging technologies (including AI where relevant)
  • Develop business cases using structured approaches (e.g., Lean Canvas)
  • Present proposals to governance forums (e.g., Product Boards)

Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with NECSWS colleagues to ensure that, where appropriate, our products are capable of being joined up at both business process and technological levels
  • Collaborate with internal teams including: Customer Success, Marketing
  • Communicate product updates, priorities, and performance
  • Support sales with product expertise and value propositions

Product Performance & Reporting

  • Contribute to monthly reporting on roadmap progress, product health and risks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product documentation and collateral

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in a business or technical discipline
  • Proven track record in Product Management in technology industries.
  • Desirable for a track record of working in the Geospatial sector with proven ability to deliver technical solutions.
  • Ability to hold an audience with customers, technical people, partners and colleagues fully engaged and excited in furthering the product strategy and delivery.
  • World class product insight. Ideas that inform direction and prioritisation.
  • Commercially savvy. Able to conduct accurate return on investment calculations to steer the products and that deliver desired commercial outcomes which result in both increased market share and profitable growth.
  • Excellent research skills. Research competitors, markets, customers, requirements and use it to inform the very best product strategies that lead to market leadership and commercial growth.
  • Decision maker. Able to make tough decisions in the best interests of the product, market, customer and company.

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.

  • This position may require you to either currently have national security vetting clearance at the Security Check (SC) level or higher, Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 3, or the ability to gain Enhanced Security Clearance in addition to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
