As a member of the Healthcare Team, the Healthcare Data Analyst plays a key role in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of healthcare data across NEC’s services, for delivery to a wide range of healthcare related organisations. Based upon the underlying data captured through NEC’s healthcare services, the focus of the role is to work with customers, prospects and other NEC staff to understand reporting requirements from this data, and to use reporting tools such as Power BI and SQL Server to develop and test these reports in line with customer and market requirements. The role will also, at times, necessitate the User Acceptance Testing of reports produced for publication to ensure data integrity and accuracy. The Healthcare Data Analyst will also use market knowledge and customer intelligence in order to specify and develop reports that enhance the value of NEC’s propositions to its customers and to the wider healthcare market.
Qualifications
- Strong professional background and experience in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of data
- Strong technical skills in the development and execution of database queries (Microsoft SQL)
- Experience of working in a service-based environment (either in a supplier organisation or provision of an internal service)
- Experience of working with industry standard reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, SSRS)
- Ability to establish credibility with customers, partners, and colleagues
- Ability to establish credibility with wider stakeholder groups to include healthcare professionals and academics
- Experience in analysis of large and/or complex data sets, and in the use of advanced techniques and of reporting and analysis packages
- A confident, self-motivated individual
- Adaptable and results oriented – gets things done
- A creative, lateral thinker, able to synthesise information from multiple sources and apply conclusions to issues
- Able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect
- Can act with limited supervision within own area of responsibility

- Working knowledge of HES data, and its application to the analysis of healthcare data
