A permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position within the South West London eye screening programme. The successful candidate will work 5 days a week, running local clinics, photographing patients’ eyes and grading retinal images to assess for diabetic retinopathy.

About the Organisation

NEC Software Solutions, part of NEC Health, delivers the national diabetic eye screening programme. Our mission is to provide people-centric services that improve health and wellbeing through excellent screening and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run local screening clinics and engage with patients
  • Capture high-quality retinal images using our photographic equipment
  • Assess images for diabetic retinopathy and record findings
  • Work largely unsupervised once training is complete, maintaining a calm, customer-focused approach in a sometimes pressured environment

Qualifications & Skills

  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn (training provided)
  • Organised and able to prioritise tasks
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Previous experience working with the public is ideal
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including A-C in English, Maths and a science subject (or equivalent)
