The Bid Writer will craft persuasive and well-structured propositions, proposals, and tender documents that align with our strategic goals and resonate with potential customers.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop high-quality written content for bids, proposals, and tender documents that effectively articulate the solution, benefits, and value proposition.
- Message Alignment: Ensure bid content aligns with NEC messaging, branding, and strategic objectives, while addressing the specific requirements of each opportunity.
- Content Customisation: Tailor content to meet the unique needs and preferences of each potential client or contract opportunity.
- Persuasive Communication: Write compelling narratives that highlight NEC’s strengths, differentiators, and capabilities, addressing client pain points.
- Content Editing: Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency, ensuring a polished and professional final product.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams—Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Subject Matter Experts—to gather input and insights for responses and propositions.
- Solution Development: Collaborate closely with the solution lead to ensure the proposed solution fits the customer need and showcases why our solution is the best choice.
- Content Research: Partner with the proposition lead to leverage resources, providing updated best practices, answers, and relevant content to enhance bid submission quality.
- Bid Management: Manage bid timelines, coordinate with the assigned Bid Manager, and ensure all content is completed, reviewed, and submitted within specified deadlines.
- Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from tender outcomes, refine content and processes, and contribute insights to our Knowledge Management system.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all content meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and accuracy.
- Knowledge Management: Record all responses and feedback in line with our knowledge-management processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a proposition, proposal, and bid writer and reviewer with a successful track record of crafting persuasive bid content.
- Strong writing and editing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Familiarity with bid-management processes and knowledge-management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid-management software, including emerging AI-enabled tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent project management and deadline-management skills, and strong communication skills.
- Experience collecting and implementing feedback to improve bid content and win rates.

- Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary evidence required.
