The Apprentice IT Trainer will be trained to design, deliver and support high-quality training programmes for internal and external clients. Working under the guidance of experienced trainers, the apprentice will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to progress into a fully competent training professional in a technical capacity. This role is designed as a developmental position, with responsibilities increasing as competence and confidence grow throughout the apprenticeship.
Key Training Responsibilities
- Deliver training programmes in classroom, online, webinar and one-to-one settings.
- Conduct training needs analysis with learners, clients and stakeholders.
- Design and maintain training materials including presentations, manuals and exercises.
- Support the development of train-the-trainer packages.
- Prepare training environments, including IT equipment and online learning platforms.
- Act as a “shadow” support lead during live sessions to resolve potential system issues.
- Support and coach learners using learning portals and self-learning materials.
- Organise, schedule and support the promotion of training courses.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using learner feedback and outcomes.
- Support training consultancy activities and customer projects.
- Liaise with external providers, employers, clients and examining bodies.
- Maintain training hardware and software, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate administrative and training records.
- Keep up to date with systems, software and training technologies.

Commitment to the Apprenticeship
The apprentice will be expected to actively engage with and complete the apprenticeship programme, apply learning in the workplace, attend required training and assessments, and respond positively to feedback and coaching.
