About NEC Telecom MODUS Ltd (NECTML): NECTML is part of the NEC group of companies and a UK based subsidiary of NEC. Its core focus is in technology research, standardisation and product development/testing in the Radio Access Network area of cellular networks.
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Telecoms Engineering Compliance & Quality Manager to join our Senior Management Team. This pivotal role oversees all compliance and quality activities, ensuring we meet NEC internal standards and UK regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead compliance activities across Health & Safety, Information Security, Quality Management, Export Controls, Risk, Legal/Personal Data Protection, and Business Continuity.
- Advise the Senior Management Team on compliance issues and best practice.
- Ensure monitoring, auditing, and record‑keeping of compliance activities.
- Work with the Office Manager on Health & Safety and training programmes.
- Manage external advisors and oversee compliance budgets.
About You:
- Experience in compliance management in a technology development company, including anti‑bribery, data protection, export controls, information security, health & safety and quality systems (ISO9001).
- Sufficient background in engineering & science to understand NECTML technology development processes and apply compliance to enhance efficiency.
- Previous experience in technology, telecoms, or R&D is essential.
- Strong communication and people skills to influence and motivate colleagues.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy, with the ability to draft clear policies and analyse budgets.
- Knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and general business legal matters is desirable.
