Application deadline: 5pm Sun 31 May 2026.

Summary: We are looking for a charismatic, passionate and active Content Creator who is trans+ or gender non‑conforming and a POC (Person of Colour) to join the core team of GOB: Shlomo and the ‘Goddexes of Beatbox’ Orchestra. Your role is to capture the spirit, journey and behind‑the‑scenes magic of our project. You will co‑design a plan, capture, edit and publish regular content documenting the GOB project across platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. You must be already active as a creator and digital storyteller who is comfortable on and off camera, ready to spread queer and disability joy as an antidote to online toxicity.

About the Project: GOB: Shlomo and the ‘Goddexes of Beatbox’ Orchestra is the world’s first trans+ and gender‑non‑conforming beatbox supergroup, led by award‑winning beatboxer SK Shlomo. Featuring an ensemble of neurodivergent vocal artists, we are creating a band and a gig‑theatre show that reclaims space in the traditionally cis‑male‑dominated world of hip‑hop and beatboxing. Our work centres on neurodivergence, transness and joyful resistance. Over the next year, we will be developing the show, hosting a series of regular gigs, and performing at major events including mainstage performances at Brighton Trans Pride and Greenbelt Festival.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Co‑designing the Strategy: Working with the project team to research and design a content plan, choosing the right formats, styles, platforms and posting schedules.
  • Capturing the Journey: Attending rehearsals, workshops and festival performances to capture raw, authentic behind‑the‑scenes content, photos, footage and music jam sessions.
  • Being the Face of the Journey: Acting as a charismatic on‑camera host and creator, telling your own story as you bring audiences along for the ride of documenting the project.
  • Editing, Publishing and Evaluating: Setting up new social media channels for GOB; editing short‑form videos, photos and stories; managing regular content publication; evaluating and iterating based on what resonates.
  • Educational Storytelling: Creating engaging narratives that normalise the trans+ journey and loudly celebrate disability joy.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Consistency: Establishing and delivering a clear content plan and responsive, adaptable posting schedule.
  • Joyful Documentation: A regular output of high‑quality, uplifting and accessibly formatted content that authentically captures and celebrates the journey of the project.
  • Accessible Education: Creating content that helps normalise the trans+ experience and neurodivergence in an accessible way.
  • Community Over Commercial Metrics: Building a growing organic audience and a recognisable identity for the project, with impact on ticket sales or streaming numbers treated as secondary.

What We Are Looking For: We value lived experience, portfolio, and creative passion over formal CVs.

Eligibility & Positive Action: This role is specifically for someone who identifies as trans+, non‑binary or otherwise gender non‑conforming to ensure the safety and authentic shared experience of our trans+/gender marginalised team. The GOB performers are majority POC (People of Colour), and under the Positive Action framework of the Equality Act 2010, we are actively prioritising applications from candidates who are People of Colour (POC / Global Majority).

Skills & Ways of Working:

  • Active Creator: You are already actively making and publishing content (for yourself and/or others) and understand the current landscapes of TikTok and Instagram.
  • Comfortable on Camera: You are not timid; you are happy to jump into the action, speak directly to the camera, and fool around getting up‑close and personal with the ensemble.
  • Ethical Storyteller: You understand how to tell joyful and educational stories that empower marginalised communities without relying on tragedy narratives.
  • Self‑Directed: You are organised and able to manage your own planning, capturing, editing and publishing workflow remotely.
  • Agile: You are comfortable moving between quiet, focused theatre environments and loud, grassroots festival spaces.

Practicalities & Access:

  • Location: You must be UK based, able to travel to London for rehearsals and gig days, as well as to specific festival locations across the UK.
  • Key Dates: You must be available to document key moments and gig dates across the year, including Brighton Trans Pride (18 July 2026) and Greenbelt Festival (29 August 2026), with onboarding taking place from mid‑June. You’ll need flexible availability for a series of gigs planned to run from Sep 2026 to May 2027 with dates and locations TBC.
  • Access: Accessibility is not an add‑on for us; it is our foundation. Access needs will never disadvantage your application, and we have resources available for access support if needed to help you bring your best to the project.
