This uniquely positioned tax advisory firm has been supporting high profile energy clients for over three decades. With three experienced Partners, it is the leading independent tax consultancy to both the oil and gas and renewable energy industries in the UK. Having built up its expertise and client base over many years, it is the first choice for companies wanting independent, practical and commercially relevant tax advice. It specialises in providing tax advisory, tax transaction and tax compliance services to a range of corporate clients in the energy sector. These clients vary in size from start-ups to super majors.
Due to a combination of succession planning and continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a new Partner to join the firm. To be successful in your application, you must have extensive experience of advising energy clients with UK operations, and a hands-on approach to delivering high quality technical work. In this firm, you will enjoy working in a highly flexible and collaborative team. You can be based anywhere in the UK but must be prepared to meet with colleagues and clients in London or Aberdeen most months.
Typical advisory work includes:
- Supporting clients with tax transaction advice, acquisitions, divestments and farm-outs
- Provision of advice on international tax matters, transfer pricing and financing
- Tax advisory services relating to the PRT, EPL and Supplementary Charge
- Provision of tax advisory services to renewable energy clients
- Oversight of the delivery of outsourced corporate tax compliance services including Petroleum Revenue Tax and tax provision work
With a team of 10 people (many previously Big 4), the firm also advises on VAT and Stamp Duties for its energy clients.
About you:
- ACA qualified or equivalent
- UK corporate tax trained, preferably Big 4
- Either an experienced energy tax advisor or transactions tax leader looking to pivot
- Operating at Partner level
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience post qualified
