We are looking for a motivated and supportive individual to join our Education Transport Team as a Teaching Assistant Level 4 – Behaviour Support Travel Training. In this rewarding role, you will support children and young people who face barriers to accessing home to school transport or developing independent travel skills. Working particularly with learners who present with behavioural challenges and those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), you will help build confidence, independence and positive travel behaviours.

Working closely with families, schools, transport providers and partner agencies, you will assess individual needs, develop support strategies, provide practical travel training and monitor learner progress. As part of your daily role, you will accompany learners on transport, teaching them safe travel skills, supporting positive behaviour during journeys, and helping them build the confidence to travel independently. You will work closely with parents, carers and schools to track progress and provide personalised support that enables learners to access education safely and successfully.

Do you have:

  • Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those with ALN
  • Experience of supporting children and young people with behavioural challenges
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team
  • Good organisational, record-keeping and report-writing skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting positive outcomes for young people

This role would suit Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Youth Workers, Behaviour Support Workers, Care Workers, Family Support Workers, Travel Trainers, or others with relevant experience supporting young people to develop confidence and independence.
