We are looking for a Senior Estates Officer to join our forward-thinking Strategic Property & Valuation Management team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our county borough through expert property management, valuation, and strategic asset planning to help deliver high-quality property services that support regeneration, community development, and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Estates Officer, you will be at the heart of managing and developing our varied property portfolio, which includes commercial, industrial, recreational, and agricultural assets. You will:

  • Lead on lease negotiations, acquisitions, disposals, and valuations.
  • Identify opportunities for income generation and property optimisation.
  • Support community asset transfers and regeneration projects.
  • Provide expert advice on compulsory purchase, leasehold enfranchisement, and statutory procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Help deliver annual asset valuations in line with IFRS and CIPFA standards.

Salary information

Total Reward Package starting from £49,911.00 pa*

Starting Salary: £40,777.00 pa – rising to £45,091.00 pa.

Additional Employers Pension Contribution of 22.4%: £9,134 – £10,100 annually* (subject to being a member of the local pension scheme).

Qualifications

  • MRICS qualified (or working towards it with substantial experience).
  • Experienced in managing complex property matters in a public or private sector setting.
  • Skilled in negotiation, valuation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Confident in using property management systems and producing high-quality reports.
  • Knowledgeable in landlord and tenant law, compulsory purchase, and leasehold enfranchisement.
