Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is currently looking for a Play Therapist to join our team. The play therapist will work with pupils from Years 1‑6 across primary schools within Neath Port Talbot. Some work may also be undertaken outside of school hours and outside the school setting.
About the Service
Neath Port Talbot School Based Counselling Service (NPT SBCS) is a multi‑modality team of therapists comprising School Based Counsellors, Play Therapists and a Drama Therapist. The service provides targeted therapy to children and young people in Years 1‑13 and supports schools through consultation, training and in‑house support.
In addition to direct Play Therapy, you will deliver group work where needed, run workshops with groups of children and young people, and provide training for staff. You will play an integral part in developing the School Based Counselling Service, collaborating with the Inclusion Service and participating in multi‑disciplinary consultations with schools. Welsh language skills are desirable. Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than those submitted in English. Applications will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure (Child/Adult).
