Hours: 18 per week part time

Working Style: Your workstyle in this role will require you to work from a fixed workplace.

We are currently seeking an individual to join our team as a supervisor. Trem y Glyn is a residential care home for elderly individuals needing permanent care. We also have a unit within for reablement individuals who come to us from hospital and regain skills to return home with or without care.

As a supervisor you will be expected to:

  • Support the Deputy in ensuring compliance with CIW regulations and to maintain service standards.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, in the absence of the Deputy Manager and report any concerns to the Manager.
  • Oversee the smooth running of the day-to-day shifts, responding to issues and challenges appropriately.
  • Work with colleagues to provide the best service to the individuals, which is person centred by being a role model.
  • Work with families and professionals to provide care that is individually tailored to an individual.
  • Motivate staff to encourage and support individuals to understand and manage the factors that affect their physical, mental health and wellbeing.
  • Establish effective relationships with individuals, listen and talk to them to encourage stimulation and work alongside them when undertaking tasks wherever appropriate.
  • Support individuals to maintain independence considering their wishes and preferences when delivering care.
  • Produce, implement, and review high-quality person-centred care and support plans based on individual needs.
  • Through supervision and other practices, ensure that staff are competent and fully trained and supported to deliver key outcomes for the residents/reablement.
  • Ensure that all individuals are safe and secure, and that safeguarding policies and procedures are always followed, appropriately record, and report any safeguarding concerns in line with NPT policy and procedures and CIW.
  • Assist the Deputy Manager in the management of sickness absence by conducting return to work interviews of the Council’s Maximising Attendance at Work Procedures.
  • Contribute to the induction of new staff members during probation.
  • Ensure the relevant policies and procedures in relation to medication management are adhered to and any incidents are reported to a manager in a timely manner.
  • Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to ensure correct outcomes for reablement.
  • Address any conflict in the team in a sensitive, positive and timely manner.

About you:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults in a health care setting.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team including supervisions.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Understand the needs of older individuals, committed to work in a person-centred approach.
  • Completed, reviewed and updated care plans to reflect the changing needs of individuals.
  • Flexibility within the role.
  • QCF 3 qualification or similar and willingness to work towards it.
