We are currently seeking a professionally qualified individual to join our team as an Area Librarian. The role will be based in Neath Library and will be part of a team of specialists responsible for developing and implementing projects and initiatives to improve services for the residents. As a member of the senior library team you will have the opportunity to inspire, shape and create the best service we can deliver, giving a sense of job satisfaction and fulfilment.

As an Area Librarian for Neath you will have specific responsibility to manage the digital resources offered by the service, including the administration and supervision of the Library Management System, Netloan and digital assets in community run libraries. You will be required to manage and lead daily operations, staff and resources in libraries across the Neath area, providing the effective day-to-day operation of frontline services.

About you, do you have:

  • Considerable knowledge of, and a passion for working in a public library environment
  • A professional Library Qualification to degree level or above
  • Significant relevant experience in a professional library role
  • Experience of project management and delivery
  • Experience of supervising and motivating staff
