Job description
Permanent Caretaker
20 hours per week over a 2-week rota/52 weeks per year
Start Date: As soon as possible after appointment process/relevant checks complete.

The Governing Body of Abbey Primary School wish to appoint a caretaker to become part of a hard-working team of staff who are committed to the school, the families and its’ community. The person appointed will need to be dedicated to fulfilling the role purposefully with the needs of the children at the forefront and become passionate about the vision that staff and governors have for the school.
The job entails opening and closing the school, health and safety matters and tasks specified in the job description. The post requires the individual to use their initiative, have practical skills to carry out maintenance tasks, have pride in their work, liaise with management staff to ensure works are carried out for the smooth running of the school, and work flexibly with the needs of the children in and outside of school hours.
Initially, the hours will consist of the following but could be subject to change:
Week one – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7am – 11am and 2pm to 6pm
Week two – Monday and Tuesday 7am – 11am and 2pm to 6pm
