Full time 37.00 hours per week/40 weeks per annum. Term time only.
We are seeking to employ an Attendance Support Officer who will be part of a talented and committed team aimed at improving school attendance by removing barriers to engagement and helping pupils achieve their full potential. The role involves supporting Education Welfare Officers, schools, pupils, and parents/carers to ensure high attendance through proactive measures.
The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will work to identify causes of absence and provide early intervention support, ensuring pupil voice is always heard.
Responsibilities include:
- Effective tracking of young people moving out of the county.
- Supporting schools and Education Welfare Officers.
- Undertaking register consultations.
- Early identification of irregular attendance.
- Implementing one-to-one, person-centred approaches to identify barriers to engagement.
- Joint house visits where applicable.
- Providing advice and guidance on difficulties or barriers to engagement.
- Offering targeted attendance support through our attendance \'task force\' process.
- Maintaining high standards of attendance for all pupils.
Requirements:
- Experience of partnership working and supporting children, young people, and their families to improve outcomes.
- Experience of working with schools and enhancing children\'s outcomes.
- Knowledge of management information systems such as SIMS, EMS, or Capita One.
