Accountant

Contract Type: Fixed Term post until 08/09/2026

Workstyle: Hybrid (work from home and various Council workplaces)

We seek a fully qualified accounting technician or equivalent to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide financial support to budget managers, including producing and analyzing system reports and presenting information to budget holders.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
  2. Income recording, grant management, ledger maintenance, and account closure
  3. Use of spreadsheets, word processing, and ledger packages
  4. Adapting system reports for non-financial officers
  5. Providing professional advice to service directorates and partnerships

Requirements:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent, or currently studying AAT
  • Experience in local government finance
