We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual with the skills and experience necessary to actively contribute to the Education Occupational Therapy Team within the Support for Learning Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist, who is passionate about supporting learners in the Early Years.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the team, in order to help these learners achieve the best possible outcomes.

Main Duties

  • Deliver specialist detailed and expert Occupational Therapy advice, support and training as part of the Inclusion Service within a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and use specialist skills to support children within preschool settings and Nursery classes settings.
  • Work with the wider Paediatric Occupational Therapy and Inclusion services to ensure access to appropriate level of assessment and support.
  • Deliver training as part of the LA Early Years and Inclusion Service Training Menus for preschool settings and Nursery classes.
  • Provide advice and strategies into the preschool settings and Nursery classes/home and liaise with Paediatric OT service if necessary.
  • Work with carers/families/children/ and preschool settings and Nursery classes to provide support/advice/strategies

Requirements

  • Specialist knowledge of professional assessments and interventions relevant to OT in the Paediatric setting
  • Managing complex caseloads
  • Multi-agency working.
  • Delivering training to other professionals and external partners.
  • Experience of working within education, particularly Early Years

Desirable

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
