You will serve as a strategic partner to our global Sales team and other key departments, directly driving business growth while protecting the company from risk. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will design and execute an exceptional legal playbook for Neat's commercial operations. You will have the strategic autonomy to manage complex negotiations, advise on diverse global matters, and act as a key architect in Neat's next phase of worldwide growth. If you are a high-performing legal leader who thrives on driving business enablement and shaping the future of workspace collaboration, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Own

  • Commercial Contracts & B2B Sales
    • Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements in a global B2B sales context, heavily focusing on enterprise end-customer agreements and channel partnerships.
    • Sales Enablement: Partner closely with Sales and Sales Operations leadership to streamline the contracting process, reducing time-to-close and removing friction while actively protecting Neat’s interests.
    • Channel Strategy: Provide strategic legal guidance on global channel and go-to-market strategies, ensuring compliance and mutual success with our worldwide network of channel partners.
  • Broad Legal Counsel
    • Intellectual Property: Safeguard Neat’s pioneering hardware and software portfolio by advising on IP strategy, trademark protection, and patent processes.
    • Employment Law: Collaborate closely with our People team to navigate global employment matters, ensuring compliance with local labor laws across our international hubs and fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace.
  • Cross-Functional Influence
    • Strategic Advising: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across Sales, Marketing, Product, and HR, translating complex legal risks into actionable business strategies.
    • Process Optimization: Build and scale legal workflows and policies, establishing a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

How Success is Measured

We believe in clear accountability. In this role, your impact will be measured directly by your ability to drive business outcomes:

  • Contract Velocity: Consistently driving faster deal cycles and reducing friction in the B2B sales process without compromising risk management or company standards.
  • Risk Mitigation: Effectively identifying and managing legal and compliance risks across our global commercial operations, IP portfolio, and employment practices.

Who You Are

Required Experience

  • Legal Expertise: Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent degree, with active bar admission in good standing in California or England & Wales (depending on your location).

  • Global In-House Experience: Must have significant experience working as an in-house attorney at a global company, navigating multi-jurisdictional legal landscapes.
  • Commercial Contracting: Deep, hands-on experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts in a B2B sales ecosystem, specifically with enterprise end-customers, distributors, and resellers.
  • Diverse Legal Acumen: Proven experience handling broad corporate legal matters beyond just commercial contracts, with specific, demonstrable proficiency in Intellectual Property (IP) and Employment law.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Proven ability to partner effectively with Sales, HR/People, and Product organizations.
  • A Builder Mindset: Demonstrated experience defining new workflows, legal policies, and playbook strategies through a company's rapid growth phases.
  • AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to build efficiencies in legal workflows and operations.
