Responsibilities
- Partner with classroom teachers to support teaching and learning with a dedicated focus on working on a 1-to-1 basis with vulnerable pupils.
- Under the direction, guidance and supervision of teaching staff, adjust learning activities within set parameters to meet the specific needs of assigned pupils.
- Provide high levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks appropriate to the pupil's needs.
- Use language and communication skills that children can understand and relate to, establishing positive relationships.
- Consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience of supporting children in a learning environment.
