Term time only, plus 5 training days and fixed term until 31st August 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with classroom teachers to support teaching and learning with a dedicated focus on working on a 1-to-1 basis with vulnerable pupils.
  • Under the direction, guidance and supervision of teaching staff, adjust learning activities within set parameters to meet the specific needs of assigned pupils.
  • Provide high levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks appropriate to the pupil's needs.
  • Use language and communication skills that children can understand and relate to, establishing positive relationships.
  • Consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience of supporting children in a learning environment.
