A pre-product-market-fit AI startup is looking for a Product Lead to own what gets built, changed, or stopped for a tool that helps enterprises deploy AI more safely and cost-effectively. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with a small Science and Engineering team.
What You'd Do
- Own the roadmap and be accountable for outcomes
- Talk to customers directly and turn what you learn into testable product hypotheses
- Run the cadence between Product, Science and Engineering — clear priorities, real decisions, closed work
- Prototype fast yourself, then work with Engineering to ship what's validated
- Take decision rights on roadmap, scope and priorities after an initial period building context alongside the founders
What They're Looking For
- A technical/engineering background, having personally shipped AI or agentic products
- Comfortable prototyping yourself (Python or similar)
- Real 0-to-1 product experience: founding PM, early-stage lead, ex-founder, or technical consultant who owned what got built
- Deep AI fluency: LLM APIs, agentic systems, evaluation, traces, and how these things fail in production
- Familiarity with tools like LangChain/LangGraph, LLM evaluation platforms (e.g. LangSmith, Braintrust), and experience across multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source)
- Hands-on customer discovery or user research experience
- You move from ambiguous problems to evidence-backed decisions without waiting for consensus on every call
- You listen before proposing solutions and change your mind when the evidence changes
- Enterprise AI deployment, evaluation or observability experience a plus
- Formal AI education is a plus, but lived experience with agentic AI matters more
- Small founding team, CEO as your direct line
- First 3 months: shape strategy alongside founders as they build context with you
- After that: full ownership of roadmap, scope and prioritisation
- Founders stay focused on commercial strategy and scientific direction
- Growth path toward CPO as the company scales
