About the Senior DevOps Engineer Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Nearform, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Creating and maintaining deployment architectures and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Designing high-availability and fault-tolerant solutions for applications.
- Implementing monitoring frameworks, including dashboards, alerts, and escalation processes.
- Automating infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Managing containerized applications and orchestrating deployments using Kubernetes.
- Ensuring security best practices are applied across CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and microservices.
- Optimizing system performance and scalability through observability and proactive monitoring.
- Collaborating with development teams to streamline deployment workflows and improve DevOps processes.
- Advising clients on best practices for cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and system security.
- Engaging in technical discussions with stakeholders and supporting project execution to ensure timely delivery.
- Assisting with the analysis of client requirements.
- Working with and supporting Technical Leaders in project execution and timely delivery.
- Collaborating with client teams.
What we are looking for in this person
- Significant experience delivering at a Senior Engineer level. Our Seniors typically have at least 6 years' commercial experience.
- Practical experience and knowledge of developing real-world solutions.
- Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment.
- Strong experience managing and automating cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration tools, ideally Kubernetes (K8s).
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Scripting and automation expertise, preferably with Python.
- Experience with observability tools and monitoring frameworks for system performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of security best practices across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.

Our Interview Process
- Talent Call (30 mins via Zoom) – An introductory conversation with a member of our Talent Team to learn more about your background, experience, and career goals. We'll also provide a high-level overview of Nearform and answer any questions you may have. This step helps us assess initial alignment.
- Technical Assessment (1 hour via Zoom) – A live coding challenge with one of our trained interviewers. You'll be asked to build a working solution to a problem via screen sharing, demonstrating your DevOps engineering expertise, problem-solving ability, and coding best practices in a real-time environment.
- Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins via Zoom) – A conversation with a Hiring Manager focused on your approach to teamwork, client collaboration, and problem-solving in an enterprise development setting. We'll also share more details about Nearform and the potential projects you may join.
- Additional Note – There may also be an additional interview with the client depending on the project.
