NDT Personnel Limited is working in conjunction with its sister company, NDT MainCal Limited, to recruit a Radiation Protection Specialist to join the company’s experienced team on a permanent basis. NDT MainCal Ltd provide a variety of technical services, including complete RPA solutions and would like to expand and enhance their specialist RPA team.
As a Radiation Protection Specialist, your role will be varied, challenging and, above all, rewarding. You’ll have a variety of customers you’ll work with, and you’ll provide a combination of general radiation protection advice, radiation safety audits and will deliver radiation safety training on customer’s sites. Your relevant experience will stem from previous work involving the use of ionising radiation, and, ideally, you will have been trained as a Radiation Protection Supervisor and been involved in radiation safety management. The candidate ideally will have had experience of working with both X-ray and gamma radiation.
This is a home-based position where you’ll be required to successfully manage your daily work routine and liaise with the team of MainCal Radiation Protection Specialists. You’ll be a strong communicator and will have exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to liaise at shop floor level, with senior management and Regulators. Additionally, we expect applicants to have strong computer skills and a full driving licence in order to carry out the duties of this post.
The post will involve working with our customers based in South Wales and the South West (Bristol, Gloucestershire, North Somerset), and it is our expectation the person appointed to this role will ideally reside in this area of the country. NDT MainCal Ltd will support the successful person with internal and external training, resulting in the achievement of a qualification as an RPA/RWA in accordance with the RPA 2000. The remuneration package includes a salary of £52,500, plus overtime, and annual bonus (expected annual earnings would be £65k + per annum) for the initial training period – which is anticipated to be three to four years – increasing to £70k, overtime, and annual bonus once fully qualified to RPA/RWA status (expected annual earnings would be £90K). Fuel expenses are included as part of the package for this role (50 pence p/mile for the first 10,000 miles then 33p for each mile thereafter in a standard tax year) and a standard company pension scheme is also included.
