As a Junior Automated QA Engineer, you will support the reliability and effectiveness of our automated testing across the project. Working closely with the QA team and wider studio, you’ll contribute hands‑on scripting and technical support to help ensure builds are tested efficiently, pipelines remain stable, and testing infrastructure performs reliably.
Contract Details
- 12‑month fixed‑term contract
- Full time (37.5 hours per week)
- Fully remote within the UK
- Salary is competitive and dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Write scripts to deploy builds to devices automatically as part of an automated test suite.
- Author and maintain functional automated tests as determined by the needs of the project.
- Support other team members in their development of functional and performance testing.
- Work with QA stakeholders to ensure they can test builds efficiently, writing scripts or extending tools as necessary.
- Work with IT and other relevant parties to ensure that infrastructure (including headsets used in headless testing) remains healthy and outages are resolved promptly.
- Maintain stability in projects by correcting markup issues that prevent automated tests running, liaising with other teams (such as level design) as needed when making corrections.
Requirements – Essentials
- Experience writing code or scripts in a high‑level language (e.g. Python)
- Knowledge of CI/CD systems such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or Epic’s Horde
- Familiarity with industry‑standard source control systems, such as Perforce or Git
- Experience working with Unreal Engine and the Unreal Editor environment
- Experience working with Blueprints or Python scripts to automate functionality within Unreal
- A problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively
Nice to haves
- Experience supporting or maintaining automated test pipelines in a production environment
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or build deployment tooling
- An interest in improving workflows, tools, and processes within QA and engineering teams
